As I travel, more and more I see murals springing up in large cities, small towns, and every size in between. Carolina Beach is no exception. Here is a detailed map of how and where to see all the murals in town. You can begin in your car, then finish by walking around. Your total distance covered will be 2.5 miles – so it can be walked in about an hour if you prefer not to drive at all. The great news is that admiring Carolina Beach murals can be done any time of the year!

Driving into Carolina Beach, these murals will be located on your right-hand-side (unless stated otherwise) and easily spotted since they will be facing you:
WELCOME TO CAROLINA BEACH
Located at 1121 N. Lake Park Boulevard, in front of City Hall. You won’t miss this as you’re driving into town.
It is your perfect first stop. Pull into the City Hall parking lot, for safety, and take a photo to post on your social media to make your friends jealous of your travels! Inspired by a vintage postcard, this mural welcomes visitors to Carolina Beach “where memories are made.”
Drive .3 miles south N. Lake Park Boulevard.
FLAMING AMY’S BURRITO BARN
Located across the street from the City Hall, at 1140-A N. Lake Park Boulevard.
Flaming Amy’s deserves a visit for its great tasting food and fun decor, though getting across the street may be difficult. You can always save this Tex-Mex inspired mural for your way out of town. Or kill two birds with one stone and eat here!
Drive south about 2 blocks.

Located at 915 N. Lake Park Boulevard (no preview yet!). This will be the 13th mural.
GREETINGS FROM CAROLINA BEACH
Located behind the Lazy Pirate Island Sports Grill, at 701 N. Lake Park Boulevard.
Behind the beach volleyball court in the backyard, you’ll find a sunny and bright mural perfect to memorialize your trip!
Continue south on the same road for just a block.
COMMON SENSE
Located on the north side of The Last Resort, at 600 N. Lake Park Boulevard.
Not as colorful as some of the others and on the left side of the road as you drive in, this quirky establishment has its own mural to admire.
Continue south on the same road for about a ½ mile.
INDIGENOUS FLY FEASTER
Located on the north side of Kate’s Pancake House, at 102 Lake Park Boulevard South.
The Venus Fly Trap, a carnivorous plant, is native to the area. Whether you find them out in nature on a hike through Carolina Beach Park or prefer to admire them at Flytrap Brewing in Wilmington, this plant is pretty unique to the area.
Continue driving an additional 1.4 miles in the same direction.
SURF & SEE
As you drive down Lake Park Boulevard, you’ll find this mural on the side of the Veggie Wagon, at 608 Lake Park Boulevard South.
This Carolina Beach mural pays homage to Robbie Johnson, who started Surf Carolina Magazine and was a renowned wildlife photographer.
After visiting the Veggie Wagon, turn back around and head back towards the Boardwalk area, almost 2 miles, turning right onto Cape Fear. Park next to the Boardwalk and discover the remaining murals by walking from one to the other so that you’ll soak in the Carolina Beach atmosphere!

SUMMER ON THE BOARDWALK
Located on the west and north walls of Hurricane Alleys, at #5 Boardwalk.
Carolina Beach’s Boardwalk is the center of attraction for summer visitors. This mural celebrates the Boardwalk, the Amusement Park, and the regular fireworks displays. Check out the area’s events calendar to join in on your own special celebration.
Walk one block north and one west to the next mural.
MARINE MAGIC
Located on the north side of The Dive, at 6 North Lake Park Boulevard.
Marine Magic highlights local marine life detailed in vibrant colors. Favorites, such as turtles, sharks, and jellyfish come to life on this brilliant wall canvas.
Walk one block east and one block north to the next mural.
CAROLINA DREAMIN’
Located on the side of Crush & Grind, at 7 Harper Avenue.
Carolina Dreamin’ highlights some of Carolina Beach’s best features – the beautiful sunrises, the dunes, and the surfers catching the waves.
Walk one short block east and one block north to the next mural.
RECORD WEEKEND
Located on the north side of the Sea Witch Tiki Bar, at 227 North Carolina Beach Avenue.
This mural celebrates the Beach Music Festival, held at Carolina Beach since 1985. This annual event attracts music lovers of all ages. Check the event Facebook page for updated event dates and band lineups.
Walk one block north to the next mural.
NOLLIE’S TACO JOINT
Located on the west-facing wall of Nollie’s Taco Joint, at 3 Pelican Lane.
This colorful mural is a mixture of several different subjects – faces, skeleton, flower, etc. It fits in perfectly with this eatery’s eclectic feel.
Return to North Carolina Beach Boulevard and walk one more block north, to the next mural on your right.
THIS MUST BE THE PLACE
Located on the west-facing wall of the Savannah Inn, at 316 Carolina Beach Avenue North.
If you’re looking for colorful sunsets, then the marina is a must-visit place. This Carolina Beach mural showcases the beauty of the local sunsets.
Several private businesses also have their own mural work which has not been included, but they’re worth adding to your list if you’re in the area!
