Don’t miss a visit to a New Mexico institution, Bosque Brewing. In addition to offering seasonal favorites and an expansive drink list, Bosque serves delicious food at various outlets. There’s nothing quite like a delicious cold brew with a slice of pizza at Restoration Pizza.
PRO TIP: Don’t be afraid to try seasonal and specialty beers. Bosque’s Pie-Faced was an unexpected treasure!
Sample New Mexican Cuisine
You can’t visit Albuquerque without sampling some delicious New Mexican cuisine. You’ll be asked whether you want green or red chile sauce when ordering at the local restaurants. Try them both, though my personal favorite was the green chile sauce.
One of the easiest ways to do this is to sample one of the famous breakfast burritos. After choosing your favorite stuffing, it will come smothered with a delicious hatch chile sauce. Yum! The Flying Star Cafe is the perfect place to give this a try.
For a wide variety of New Mexican cuisine options, visit Sadie’s, a local favorite with affordable menu offerings. And no, I’m not getting a kickback for this – it’s just delicious food!

Drive on Historic Route 66
Established in 1926, Route 66 was one of the first numbered highways in the United States. The road connects Chicago to Los Angeles, and passes through amazing cities, including Albuquerque.
Driving along Route 66 in Albuquerque, visitors will see vintage motels and many eateries. Sadly, the road is in need of preservation and efforts are underway to protect this historic route.
Due to its popularity, as mentioned in books and songs, the road has been immortalized as part of American lore. Historic Route 66 is still driveable through Albuquerque, so enjoy riding on a piece of history.
