Traveling in EVA Air’s business class is an experience like no other. From the moment you step on board until you reach your destination, you are treated to top-notch service, luxurious amenities, and a level of comfort that will make you feel like royalty. In this detailed guide, we will explore everything you need to know about flying in EVA Air’s business class, from booking your ticket to enjoying the in-flight experience.

Those who have followed me for a while know that I don’t usually spring for business class seats, but when you’re about to spend 15 to 17 hours on long-haul flights, it makes sense to treat yourself. My mother and I traveled from Houston to Singapore and from Hong Kong to Houston, both with a stop in Taipei, EVA’s home country. This was my first time taking EVA Air flights, and it was a good thing that we selected this airline, which we had never heard of before.

Booking Your EVA Air Royal Laurel Class Ticket: The Price of Luxury

Before you can bask in the extravagance of EVA Air’s business class, you’ll need to secure your golden ticket. Yes, business-class tickets come at a premium price, but hey, you can’t put a price on feeling like a high-flying VIP, right? Just remember, it’s not just a ticket – it’s a one-way ticket to comfort town!

And EVA Air does not offer first class seats because you’re already treated as if you’re in first class in Royal Laurel Class! If you’re traveling with someone, you’ll need to decide if you want to sit across from each other by booking a window seat and an aisle seat or two aisle seats. We opted for the two middle seats, which meant we didn’t get to see outside but it was easier to talk with each other.

Pre-Flight EVA Air Royal Laurel Class Experience: Check-In Dash

Forget the days of queuing up like you’re waiting for the latest iPhone release. As a business class passenger with EVA Air, you get VIP treatment from the get-go. With dedicated check-in counters, a check-in agent dedicated to business class passengers ensures you’ll sail through the airport faster than you can say, “Where’s the nearest lounge?”

Speaking of lounges, your Laurel Class (that’s what EVA Air calls business class) ticket entitles you to entry to its VIP lounges. Go ahead and help yourself to a welcome drink while you wait in comfort for your flight.

So much leg room — this area is covered by your lie-flat seat.

The EVA Air Royal Laurel Class Seat: Throne in the Sky

Ah, the seat—your luxurious throne in the sky. With more legroom than you know what to do with and a chair that reclines into a bed, you’ll be feeling more relaxed than a cat in a sunbeam. Every business class seat features direct aisle access, so you won’t have to ask anyone to stand up whenever you need to stretch your legs.

As you make your way down the aisle to your seat, you’ll put any items that you will not need during your flight in the large overhead bins. As you sit down, you’ll be offered a pre-departure drink. I did not hesitate to order a glass of Dom Perignon champagne, which was included in my ticket price.

And you read that right—your business class ticket features lie-flat seats. When I was ready to sleep, I needed the assistance of a flight attendant with some of the fancy seat controls. They put a pad on the seat and offered the air equivalent of turndown service. With my bed made, I could finally enjoy hours of sleep. That was a first for me since I usually have difficulty sleeping in my cramped economy seats!

Just don’t get too comfortable; you won’t want to miss out on the gourmet dining experience!

In-Flight Dining: Food for Thought (and Stomach)

Prepare for a culinary journey that will make your taste buds dance happily. EVA Air pulls out all the stops with gourmet meals that are so good you’ll forget you’re 30,000 feet in the air. And hey, if you’re feeling fancy, why not pair your meal with a glass of bubbly? After all, you’re flying high in more ways than one!

Meal service consists of a main course that you can pre-select on the app a few days before your adventure. But what was really special was the middle-of-the-night “snack” when my flight attendant noticed that I had woken up. I was even offered a cheeseburger, but I opted for a pork bun instead.

Once you’ve made your food selection, your flight attendant puts a tablecloth on your tray table. You’ll choose a bread roll from a huge basket. Fresh fruit was served at every meal. The meal selections included items like beef steak and lobster as well as Chinese favorites. Snacks like instant noodles and Haagen Dazs ice cream are available all-flight long. It’s like having your own private kitchen at your beck and call.

In-Flight Entertainment: Lights, Camera, Action!

Lights, camera, action – it’s showtime in the sky! With a personal entertainment system at your fingertips, you’ll have more options than you can shake a flight attendant call button at. The in-flight entertainment screen pulls out when in use and is pushed in during take-off and landing or whenever you don’t need it. From blockbuster movies to soothing music, your only dilemma will be deciding what to watch first. It’s like having your private cinema but with better snacks!

Amenities: The Pampering Package

EVA Air knows how to spoil its business class passengers, and the amenities are no exception. From luxurious bedding to noise-canceling headphones, you’ll feel like you’re staying at a five-star hotel – only this hotel happens to be cruising at 35,000 feet.

And don’t forget your amenity kit, complete with skincare products that will have you looking fresher than a flight attendant on her first day! Each kit includes an eye mask and ear plugs to tune out the rest of the plane. Toiletries such as a dental kit with a toothbrush and toothpaste, lip balm, and moisturizer keep you looking fresh.

And let’s not forget that each passenger receives a designer set of pajamas. You read that right – every Royal Laurel class passenger receives a loose-fitting two-piece pajama to sleep in comfort.

The Service: Flying High with a Smile

The cabin crew at EVA Air’s business class aren’t just there to serve you – they’re there to make you feel like royalty. With smiles as bright as the sun and service that’s as smooth as silk, you’ll be wondering if you accidentally stumbled into first-class heaven. Need a refill on that drink? Just ask – they’re here to make your journey as enjoyable as possible.

As soon as you sit in your business class seat, flight attendants approach you to ask how you’d like to be addressed and confirm your meal and drink options. They will frequently ask whether they can make your journey more comfortable. You’ll feel so very special!

Arrival Experience: Back to Reality (Maybe)

As your time in the lap of luxury comes to an end, don’t worry – the pampering doesn’t stop when you touch down. With seamless disembarkation and dedicated transfer services, you’ll be whisked off the plane and onto your next adventure faster than you can say, “Can I just stay on board for one more round of dessert?”

If you’ve got a flight planned from North America to Asia, you may have considered more well-known Asian carriers such as Singapore Airlines or Cathay Pacific. But EVA Air business class blew me away.

From the moment you book your ticket to the moment you step off the plane, you’ll be treated to a level of comfort and luxury that will make you feel like a true jet-setting superstar.
